News announced on Less Survivable Cancers Awareness Day, which takes place every year on 11th January, ranked the UK 22nd out of 29 comparable countries for the survival of Brain Cancer.
Sadly it is now a fact that UK survival rates for six of the deadliest cancers which include Brain are falling far behind other high-income countries.
Questions are being asked as to why the UK is falling behind countries like the US and it has been suggested that a lack of access to innovative treatments and opportunities to join clinical trials for UK patients may explain this.
A number of UK charities are now calling on the UK government to close the deadly cancer gap for these less survivable cancers.
